Snare (System iNtrusion Analysis and Reporting Environment) was originally developed in the early 2000s by the Australian Government’s Defence Signals Directorate (now part of the Australian Signals Directorate). Designed to solve the critical problem of centralised log collection and audit trail visibility, Snare quickly grew from a defence-grade tool into a globally recognised security solution.
In 2011, Prophecy International Holdings Ltd an ASX listed Australian software company trading under the banner ASX:PRO. acquired Snare, bringing commercial scale and development investment to the platform. Since then, Snare has evolved into a full-suite cybersecurity solution trusted by enterprises, critical infrastructure, healthcare, and financial institutions globally.
